Subject Selection

Students must study seven subjects as part of the IGCSE Programme at DYPIS.

All students are required to study the following mandatory subjects:

  • First Language English
  • Hindi or French
  • Mathematics or Additional Mathematics

The remaining four subjects should be chosen thoughtfully and strategically. Students are encouraged to consider the following factors while making their selections:

  • Personal compatibility and interest
  • Skill sets — analytical, creative, and research-oriented
  • Study style and individual strengths
  • Career aspirations

Cambridge ICE Award

The Cambridge ICE (International Certificate in Education) is awarded to students who demonstrate a high level of achievement across a balanced combination of subjects. To qualify, students must successfully complete at least seven subjects, including:

  • Two subjects from Group 1
  • One subject from each of Groups 2 to 5
  • The seventh subject may be chosen from any group

The ICE Award recognises students who pursue a well-rounded academic programme and excel across multiple disciplines.

Cambridge IGCSE Grading

Cambridge IGCSEs are graded on a scale from A* to G, with A* being the highest grade and G representing the minimum satisfactory performance. This grading system is widely recognised by universities across the globe.
